About us

Welcome to our campsite, Søhøjlandets Familiecamping, our little "family oasis".

The site is with app. 200 units spread out on a relatively large area, so there is plenty of space for all. We love animals, our surroundings, activities and togetherness across generations. As hosts it is our wish that you have a vacation filled with good memories in a relaxing atmosphere, where there is room for everyone.

We will often be present in and around the reception, or you will find us somewhere on the campsite attending to our visitors and caring for our site. And our three boys? Well, they are roaming free across the site as well.

Here children can enjoy our playgrounds and activities, others can enjoy the wonderful surroundings along the river. Youngsters can get together in our "teenage-hut", and if you are looking for quiet camping with others, there are plenty of ways to withdraw a bit and meet other guests around the site.

In the long run it is our aim to have different animals around the site. We are basically "farmers at heart", and thrive with animals around us, either for self sufficiency, or at pet animals. Common for all our animals is our wish for them to live a life in dignity with high animal welfare.

Basically there has to be space for everyone and everybody and, most important, to have fun.

Facilities

Service buildings

On the site there are two big service buildings with family rooms, childrens sections for babies and bathing facilities for the young ones, indoor and outdoor kitchen areas, laundry room, as well as areas for washing your mountainbike, cleaning your fish and caring for your motorhome.

Shop & reception

In our small shop you can find a selection of daily necessities, bits for a camping vacation, icecream and other goodies. In addition to this we have bakeoff, ensuring freshly made bread in the mornings.

We can also help with advice and suggestions about trips, local attractions, and other practical information.

Banquet facilities

Having a party or business meeting? Then we have the facilities. In our modern banquet facilities we have space for app. 80 people, with adjoining kitchen and atrium.

(Baseprice for renting: 1500 DKK for the first days and 800 DKK for following days. The prices are exclusive of cleaning after use)

Fenced dog area/forest

Dogs are welcome on the site, as long as they are not an inconvenience, and under full control of their owner. Those who want to walk their dogs without leash can do so in our adjoining and fenced forest.

Any waste is of course to be removed, also in the fenced area.

The animals

We would like to share our passion for animals with our guests. Nevertheless, the highest priority is the welfare of our animals, and we therefore kindly ask that due consideration is taken to the animals when in contact with them. Follow the instructions and rules - then we avoid accidents and unhappy animals and children :0)

The site history

The site was formerly known as Truust Camping. When we took over the site we decided to change the name to Søhøjlandets familiecamping.

opening hours, reception & shop

The opening hours for the shop and reception depends upon the time of year and days of the week. We can always be contacted on our telephone. We also refer to the notices on the site, where the opening hours of the particular week can be found.

playgrounds

The use of our playgrounds is open for everyone on the site. But we want to make sure there is space for everyone, and therefore the small playground is reserved for smaller children. Consider others, and there will be room for everyone. In consideration of other guests, the playgrounds are not to be used after 22:00.

the Season 2019

The 2019 season runs from Friday 12 April to Sunday 29 September, both days included.

checking in - and out

When renting cottages and luxury tents it is possible to check in after 14:00.

Checkout on the departure day before 11:00 in the reception.

The tent area, our shelters and pitches with electricity must be vacated before 12:00, unless otherwise agreed.

Payments for starys to be settled upon arrival, unless otherwise agreed.

When renting the banquest facilities, the area is available from 11:00 on arrival to 11:00 the following day. Upon depature the facilities, including the kitchen and toilets, must be cleaned.

When is high and low season

High season are the following days, all days included.

St. Bededagsferie (Local Danish holiday) 17/5-18/5

Ascension day 30/5 - 1/6

Pentecost 7/6 - 9/6

Summer vacation 28/6 - 3/8

Low season are the remaining days remaining from site opening 12 April to site closing 29 September.
